Can the pandemic help 'smart' clothes to catch on?

How Can I Get into Nursing Informatics?

Having spent 10 years of my career as an Informatics Nurse, I am frequently asked about how to get into this field. While everyone’s story is a little different, including my own, in this article I pull together the most common ways nurses get into this area.

What do I need to know before starting a master's program in Nursing Informatics?

This article describes 5 aspects of life as an Informatics Nurse I wish I knew before starting a masters program. Frustrations of Manual Inventory Management: A Nurse's Perspective

I started my nursing career on a medical-surgical unit of a busy city hospital. Like most new nursing graduates, I was put on the night shift and frequently assigned more than the recommended number of patients. That meant while the city slept, I sprinted from patient room to patient room for 12 hours. One of the most frustrating aspects of my job was dealing with the lack of supplies when and where I needed them. For a hard-pressed nurse, that meant taking extra steps to track down supply inventory and losing time caring for patients.
